Our story

Built for our weddings, by someone who gets them.

Planning a Punjabi or Sikh wedding means juggling the Anand Karaj, the reception, three or four pre-wedding events, two families’ expectations, and a budget that grows every week. Lavaan & Lights exists to make that feel possible.

Why this exists

Generic wedding sites weren’t built for our ceremonies. They don’t know which banquet hall lets you bring your own Punjabi caterer, which gurdwara to call first, or how the days actually flow from maiya to milni to the reception. So couples end up planning from scratch in group chats and spreadsheets, paying for mistakes they couldn’t have known to avoid.

I built Lavaan & Lights to give couples one clear plan instead — grounded in real Canadian vendors and the way our weddings are genuinely planned.

What we make

A plan your punjabi wedding before you spend thousands — delivered as a personalized blueprint built from your dates, your cities, and your budget. It covers every event, the order to book things in, real vendor options to confirm, and the conversations families need to have before anyone signs a deposit. We also publish digital planning guides and city playbooks in our shop.

What we believe

Honest before impressive. Our budgets are real ranges, not fear-selling. Our vendor lists point you to businesses to confirm directly — we’ll never invent a name or a number. And every plan is meant to be shared with the people who matter, because a Punjabi wedding is never planned alone.
