Privacy Policy

Lavaan & Lights (“we,” “us”) is a digital wedding-planning service operated from British Columbia, Canada. We provide a personalized Punjabi & Sikh wedding blueprint and a shop of digital planning guides for couples across Canada. You can reach us any time at hello@lavaanandlights.com.

We collect only the information needed to create and deliver your order:

• Contact details you give us — your name and email address.
• Wedding details you enter in the intake form — your city, dates, guest count, budget range, ceremony preferences, and the other planning answers you choose to share.
• Order information — which product you bought and when. Payment card details are entered directly with our payment processor (Stripe); we never see or store your full card number.
• Basic technical data your browser sends automatically (such as your IP address and device type), used to keep the site secure and working.

• To generate your personalized blueprint and deliver the digital products you ordered.
• To email you your order, your blueprint link, and any follow-up needed to fulfil it.
• To provide support and answer your questions.
• To process payments and keep records required for tax and accounting.
• To protect the site against fraud and abuse.

We do not use your information for third-party advertising, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.

Your personalized blueprint is created by combining our own rules with a large-language-model service provided by Anthropic (Claude). To write your plan, the wedding details you enter are sent to Anthropic’s API. Anthropic processes this data on our behalf to return your blueprint and, per its business terms, does not use it to train its models. We send only the planning details needed to write the blueprint.

We share information only with the service providers that help us run Lavaan & Lights, and only as needed to deliver your order:

• Stripe — payment processing. Stripe handles your card details under its own privacy policy.
• Resend — sending your order and blueprint emails.
• Vercel — website hosting and secure storage of your blueprint.
• Anthropic — generating your blueprint, as described above.

Some of these providers may process data outside Canada (including in the United States), where different privacy laws apply. We may also disclose information if required by law.

We keep this simple: we use only the essential cookies needed to operate the site (for example, to keep an admin session secure). We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking or analytics pixels.

We keep your order and blueprint for as long as needed to deliver and support your purchase and to meet legal and accounting obligations. You can ask us to delete your personal information at any time and we will do so unless we’re required to keep it.

Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA) and British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act, you can:

• Ask what personal information we hold about you.
• Ask us to correct anything that’s wrong.
• Ask us to delete your personal information.
• Withdraw consent for future use of your information.

We use reputable providers and reasonable safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we take protecting your data seriously.

Our service is intended for adults planning a wedding. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of majority.
